2.8 It shall be the responsibility of this committee to investigate all nominees to the Hall of Fame and evaluateall information obtained. The committee's investigation shall include direct communication with current or formerABC members of experience and repute in regions of the nominee's origin, ownership and major exhibition.2.9 The Board of Directors, by a two-thirds (2/3) vote, may remove, with or without cause, any appointedmember of the committee.SECTION 3 - QUALIFICATIONS FOR NOMINATIONAny Brittany registered with AKC and meeting the general criteria set forth in Section 1 is eligible to be nominatedfor election to the Hall of Fame during a fifteen (15) year period beginning on the first day of the year following theyear of death.SECTION 4 - NOMINATION PROCEDURE4.1 Any member in good standing of the ABC may nominate one (1) or more Brittanys, which qualify fornomination under Section 3, for election to the Hall of Fame by submitting a prescribed nomination form to theexecutive secretary setting forth the history of the Brittany nominated, his or her extraordinary progeny and thereasons for nomination.4.2 Nomination forms prescribed by the Board of Directors shall be available at all times from the executivesecretary and published from time to time in "The American Brittany" magazine.4.3 Nominations actually received by the executive secretary on or before February 1 of any year, shall beconsidered by the committee that year for recommendation to the Board of Directors for election to the Hall ofFame. Nominations received by the executive secretary after February 1 of any year shall b considered by thecommittee the next succeeding year for recommendation to the Board of Directors for election to the Hall of Fame.4.4 Once nominated, the dog or bitch shall thereafter be considered by the committee for recommendation tothe Board of Directors for election to the Hall of Fame for five (5) consecutive years unless sooner recommendedfor and elected to the Hall of Fame.4.5 If at the end of said five (5) consecutive years, the dog or bitch has not been recommended for election orhas been recommended for election but not elected, the dog or bitch may be re-nominated for another consecutivefive (5) year period. If after the second five (5) year period the dog or bitch has not been recommended for electionor has been recommended for election but not elected, appeal may be made as permitted by SECTION 7.4.6 The Hall of Fame committee shall report annually to the Board the names of all dogs and bitches submittedfor nomination to the Hall of Fame for election.115
