DUTIES OF THE PUBLISHER OF"THE AMERICAN BRITTANY" MAGAZINE (<strong>2012</strong>)1. The Publisher of "The American Brittany" magazine shall coordinate with the Magazine Committee tosolicit, and receive material and advertising for the magazine, causing the same to be printed, addressed, and mailedto the duly paid members, Life Members, HOF Members of the ABC and complimentary copies to sponsors, AKCand contributing editors on the first part of each month. (<strong>2012</strong>)2. The Publisher shall furnish the Treasurer with a monthly detailed list of all moneys received during themonth. The Publisher shall also furnish the Treasurer a monthly itemized account of all moneys spent by that officeduring the month. These reports shall be made in such a manner as to allow the Treasurer to maintain accuratefinancial records in accordance with accepted financial practices, as specified in the Duties of the Treasurer. A copyof both these reports shall be sent to the Magazine Committee if requested. (<strong>2012</strong>)3. The Publisher shall send all checks and money to the Treasurer for her to deposit in a bank approved by theBoard of Directors.4. All financial records and all correspondence pertaining to money shall be retained for five (5) yearsthereafter. All general correspondence should be kept for three (3) years, and any records not of historical valuemay be destroyed after that time. Records of historical interest shall be sent to the Executive Secretary and keptindefinitely. (1964) (<strong>2012</strong>)5. The Publishing Editor is responsible for recording all monies collected for ads, sample issues, and backissues, as well as judge’s <strong>book</strong>s, Brittany primer, flyers, photos, etc. and reporting these lists to the Treasurer, andMagazine Committee if requested. (2009) (<strong>2012</strong>)6. The Publishing Editor shall be allowed to accept payment for advertising by accepting credit cards. (2001)(2004)7. The Publisher shall be responsible for obtaining the second class mailing permit and maintaining it inproper order.8. The Publisher shall abide by the policies set forth by the Board and shall present any questions about the<strong>policy</strong> to the Managing Editor/chairman of the Magazine Committee, and/or the Executive Secretary.9. The Publishing Editor shall submit a report of activities and recommendations to the Magazine Committeeand to the Agenda Chairman in advance of the annual Board Meeting. This must be done far enough in advance sothe Agenda Chairman can have the Agenda in the hands of the Directors six (6) weeks prior to the Annual BoardMeeting. (1992) (<strong>2012</strong>)10. The Publishing Editor shall coordinate with the Magazine Committee for the accuracy of the content in themagazine and for making sure the magazine meets the purpose of ABC, as well as maintaining the high quality ofthe magazine. The Publishing Editor shall ensure that the statement “All rights reserved, (year)” is update annuallybeginning with the January issue of that year.(<strong>2012</strong>)12. The Publishing Editor shall send three sets of the twelve previous monthly issues of the magazine to bebound. Each of these sets will be a designated color. The bound sets will then be sent to the Statistician, theExecutive Secretary and the Bird Dog Foundation.
