DUTIES OF THE ABC REPRESENTATIVE TO THEAKC POINTING BREED ADVISORY COMMITTEEComposition of committee: The AKC Pointing <strong>Breed</strong> Advisor y Committee consists of one (1) representative fromeach of the nine (9) AKC recognized Pointing <strong>Breed</strong> Parent <strong>Clubs</strong> consisting of The American Brittany Club Inc.,The German Shorthair Pointer Club of America, The Weimaraner Club of America, The Irish Setter Club ofAmerica, The Vizsla Club of America, The German Wirehaired Pointer Club of America, The English SetterAssociation of America, The American Pointer Club, and The Gordon Setter Club of America.Duties1. Upon receipt of notification from AKC that there will be a meeting of the Pointing <strong>Breed</strong> AdvisoryCommittee, the ABC representative shall notify all Officers, Board of Directors and Regional Club secretaries ofthe ABC. The representative shall also notify the Editor of "The American Brittany" magazine for publication of thedate of the AKC Pointing <strong>Breed</strong> Advisory Committee meeting.2. Contact the officers, Board of Directors and Regional Club secretaries of the ABC to solicit any rulechanges or revisions they wish to propose.3. Mail copies of all proposed rule changes and revisions to the officers, Board of Directors and regional <strong>club</strong>secretaries of the ABC for their review at least sixty (60) days prior to the ABC's annual Board of Directors'meeting.4. Prepare a list of the proposed rule changes and revisions approved by the Board of Directors of the ABCand submit the list of the proposed rule changes and revisions to the AKC Field Trial Department for placement onthe AKC Pointing <strong>Breed</strong> Advisory Committee agenda for consideration.5. The ABC representative shall attend the meeting of the AKC Pointing <strong>Breed</strong> Advisory Committee and inrepresenting the ABC the representative shall vote for the rule changes and revisions as recommended by the Boardof Directors of the ABC and for rule changes and revisions that will benefit all pointing breeds.6. The ABC representative shall prepare copies of the minutes of the AKC Pointing <strong>Breed</strong> AdvisoryCommittee meeting and send copies to the officers, Board of Directors, Regional Club secretaries, and the editor of"The American Brittany" magazine immediately upon authorization by AKC.136
