4. The classics/championships shall be conducted as Open Limited All Age Stakes as described in the AKC<strong>club</strong> rules except for the Gun Dog Classic/championship and the Grouse Woodcock Classic/championship whichshall be conducted as Open Limited Gun Dog Stakes. (See AKC field trial rule <strong>book</strong> for the current definition ofLimited Stakes). All Classics/championships will also be run under the auspices of the American Field and thewinner will be named an American Field Champion. Dogs entered should be registered in both the AKC and FDSBRegistries.5. Al l Classics/championships shall consist of one -hour heats.6. The host <strong>club</strong> shall decide how many days it wishes the classic/championship to run. The entry must belimited to the number of dogs that can normally be run on the grounds in that number of days. The scheduledminimum length for a classic/championship should be three days.7. The trial must be run under the AKC rules and procedures and the host <strong>club</strong> and its field trial committeeshall be charged with the responsibility of seeing that the rules are enforced.8. The classic/championship committee must consist of five (5) members at all times with each region havingone representative and one member's term expiring each year. The committee shall be charged with passing on therequirements and regulations for the classic/championship as well as choosing host <strong>club</strong>s each year. Annually thePresident shall appoint one member for the classic/championship committee to serve a five-year term and designatechairman from among the committee members. These annual appointments must be submitted to the Board ofDirectors for approval.9. Tracking collars will be allowed in all ABC <strong>National</strong> Events. This must be printed on the Premium Lists inaccordance with AKC guidelines. Instruct all <strong>National</strong> field trial committees that the handlers have the option to usetracking collars. Scouts shall not carry tracking locators. Handlers shall not carry tracking locators. Use of locatorsby riders in the gallery is not permitted except to locate a previously lost dog with permission of judges andmarshal. Trial officials and field trial committee will deal with violations. Handlers and scouts are prohibited fromusing ear plug listening devices. Any electronic device that enables the handler to communicate with the scout,mounted gallery, road gallery, or other persons present during the running of the dog is prohibited.10. All ABC sponsored events i.e. Futurities, Summer Specialty Show, <strong>National</strong> Specialty Show, Open All AgeChampionship, Amateur All Age Championship, Gun Dog <strong>National</strong> Championships, and Classic/championships orany other events as may arise, coordinate activities related to fund raising with the <strong>National</strong> Auction Committee andsubmit all anticipated and contacted solicitation and donor lists to the chairman of that committee. (2000)11. Vendors will not be allowed to conduct auctions and/or raffles at ABC events. (2000)Exception (Brittany rescue Organizations) 200212. Host <strong>club</strong>s should provide FEIN # or <strong>club</strong> members SSN to the Purina Coordinator.13. Host <strong>club</strong>s shall be responsible for attaining/securing photos of the winners of the event along with thewrite-up and getting same to “The American Brittany” for publication.92
