QUALIFICATION FOR THE NATIONAL GUN DOG CHAMPIONSHIPS(Effective at close of entries for the 2011 National Amateur Gun Dog Championship)The National Amateur Gun Dog Championship1. Open to any Brittany six (6) months of age or over which in any preceding year placed first in the NationalAmateur Gun Dog Championship for Brittanys or2. which in the preceding year placed second, third or fourth in the National Amateur Gun Dog Championship forBrittanys, or3. which during the period from the previous years close of entries to the current year’s closing of entries has placedin a Gun Dog or Limited Gun Dog Stake of 30 minutes in an AKC Licensed trial held by a Brittany Club, whenhandled by an Amateur, in which the following (or more) dogs started: 1st place with 13 starters, 2nd place with 20starters, 3rd place with 30 starters, or 4th place with 35 starters, or4. has placed in any hour Gun Dog or Limited Gun Dog Stake in an AKC Licensed trial held by a Brittany Club andhandled by an Amateur in which the following dogs started: lst place with 13 starters, or 2nd place with 15 starters,or 3rd place with 17 starters, or 4th place with 20 starters, or5. has qualified for the current year National Open Gun Dog Championship for Brittanys when handled by anAmateur, or6. A dog winning first place in the National Open Gun Dog Championship when handled by an Amateur will alsobe qualified for life in the National Amateur Gun Dog Championship.7. Effective January 1, 2013: All dogs entered in any of the following American Brittany Club Sponsored Eventsmust have a DNA profile on record with the AKC. The AKC DNA number must be included on all entry forms.Dogs whelped prior to January 1, 2011, may provide American Field DNA profile.A. All American Brittany Club National Championship field events; NFC, NAFC, NGDC, and NAGDCandB. The American Brittany Club National Specialty Show, with the exception of dogs registered with anILP/PAL number, and dogs under the age of 2 years at the start of the event. (2012)No dog may run in both the National All Age Championships and the National Gun Dog Championships in thesame calendar year.Any dog trained on the grounds chosen for the National Amateur Gun Dog Championship within 30 days ofthe start of the National Amateur Gun Dog Championship will be ineligible to compete.Only persons who, in the judgment of the Field Trial Committee, are qualified as amateurs as defined in Chapter 17,Section 2, of the AKC Field Trial Rules and Standard Procedures for Pointing Breeds, may serve as scouts in theNational Amateur Gun Dog Championship Stake.The National Open Gun Dog Championship(Effective at close of entries for the 2011 National Open Gun Dog Championships)1.
