APPLYING FOR PERMISSION TO RUN A CLASSIC/CHAMPIONSHIPAND PRE-TRIAL RESPONSIBILITIES1. Any Regional Club or <strong>Clubs</strong> desirous of hosting a classic/championship shall make application in writing tothe classic/championship committee at least one year in advance of the proposed running of theclassic/championship. All classic/championships shall be run on the bird designated (the Pheasantclassic/championship on pheasants, the quail classic/championship on quail, etc. with the exception of the Gun DogClassic/championship which may be run on any game bird or mixture of game birds and which shall be judged ongun dog standards.2. The Classic/championship committee chairman shall thereupon forward the applicant <strong>club</strong> one copy of the"Application to Host an American Brittany Club Classic/Championship" form. The <strong>club</strong> shall fill in all the requireddata and shall return SEVEN (7) copies, retaining one (1) for its files. The chairman shall then forward one (1) copyto each member of the committee who shall vote on this and any other applications. The majority vote of thecommittee shall determine the host <strong>club</strong> for each classic/championship and, subject to license, shall be binding onall parties thereto.3. When the host <strong>club</strong> has been decided upon by the classic/championship committee, the chairman shallnotify the host <strong>club</strong>. The chairman shall also send one copy of the application form to the ABC <strong>club</strong> ExecutiveSecretary and shall notify the "The American Brittany" magazine that approval has been given to the host <strong>club</strong> andthat the dates have been approved by the national-dates committee. The Executive Secretary shall then apply to theAKC for the license to hold the classic/championship. Send the signed AKC computerized sheet to the host <strong>club</strong> tosend to AKC.4. It shall be the responsibility of the Field Trial Chairman to keep the Executive Secretary of the ABC and thechairman of the classic/championship committee informed of the plans and progress of the classic/championship. Itis understood that the Board of Directors of the ABC have jurisdiction over the running of theclassics/championships and the host <strong>club</strong>'s field trial committee must be guided by their recommendations astransmitted by the chairman of the classic/championship committee to whom this responsibility is delegated.93
