AMERICAN BRITTANY CLUB DERBY CHAMPIONSHIPAn ABC Derby Championship is established. The event should not be run at the same championship or even thesame region two (2) years in a row.1. This event will be run in conjunction with existing derby stakes run by an established Brittany AmericanField Championship Association.2. The event will be a one (1) hour stake.3. The event will be open to any Brittany registered in the Field Dog Stud Book that meets the American Fieldage requirements for derbies.4. Al l expenses, except trophies, are the responsibility of the sponsoring association/club.5. Trophies will be furnished by ABC. They will be engraved with the name of the sponsoringassociation/club and the name of the derby event normally run.6. Entry fee will be $125.00. Total fees will be divided as:10% of the total entry fee will go to ABC 90% of the total entry fee will be split equally between the sponsoringassociation/club and the purse.7. A champion and runner-up will be named. The purse will be split 60/40.100
AMERICAN BRITTANY CLUB FUTURITYAll dogs must be owned by members of the ABC or their immediate family as described by the AKC. The ABCFuturities are established for the purpose of encouraging and benefiting breeders and owners of Brittanys. The trialsand shows were inaugurated by the ABC and are conducted under their rules.The following rules have been adopted by the Board of Directors of the ABC and are distributed to those makingentries in the futurity through printing on the reverse side of all futurity entry forms.CONDITIONS AND RULESPrior to 1/1/2004, nominations of the dam were to be made within 30 days after the bitch was bred, at which timethe first $10 forfeit was paid. A second $10 forfeit was then to be paid before the litter reached 30 days of age.Beginning 1/1/2004, the first and second forfeits are to be combined into a single “first forfeit” fee which must bepaid within 30 days (judged by postmark) after whelping date. This simplifies record keeping for both the ABC andthe litter owner. It also eliminates any confusion caused by “failure to whelp”. The ABCBoard of Directors will set the fees.LITTER FORFEITSEach ABC futurity shall be open to every purebred Brittany bitch and all her progeny whelped on or after January1st of any given year Bitches must be owned, co-owned or leased by a member of the ABC or by a member of theimmediate family.All dams nominated and all stud dogs used must be registered in a recognized stud book (2008) (Must be registeredat time bred). Only dogs registered in a registry recognized by ABC will be eligible. (2008) (precludes registries notrecognized by ABC)Nominations of dams must be made within 30 days after the pups have been whelped, at which time the forfeit mustbe paid. Payment will entitle each puppy of this particular litter to be entered in the ABC futurities (field (all age orgun dog) and/or bench upon fulfillment of requirements below. The current fees are set by the ABC Board ofDirectors and can be found on the futurity form in "The American Brittany" magazine. (2003)Late litter nominations will be accepted as late as 180 days from whelping. (2011). Late fees are $30.00 for 31-60days, an additional $30.00 for 61-90 days and an additional $100 for 90-180 days. (2011). Nominations after 180days will be at the discretion of the Futurity Committee. Additional late fees may be imposed from time to time bythe ABC Board of Directors. (2008) This defines late fees and provides for all litters to have the same amount oftime within the penalty. The postmark will determine the fee for late nominations. (2003)The litter forfeits, less all expenses incurred up to the closing of final forfeits will be divided equally among thesections holding futurities (Base Purse). (2012)The final forfeits due on October 1 st shall be allocated to the designated section and event for which paid and addedto the Base Purse above. (2012)Field forfeits will be allocated based on the ratio of event entry (i.e. ratio of All Age to Gun Dog). After deductionof 10% administration fee for ABC, the balance will constitute the purse for that section.
