SECTION 5 - PROCEDURE FOR SELECTING NOMINEE FOR RECOMMENDATION TO BOARD OFDIRECTORS5.1 Within fifteen (15) days after the February 1 deadline, the chairman shall provide the statistician with a listof dogs and bitches properly nominated by the February 1 deadline. The statistician shall then compile, for eachnominee, the complete record of wins of the nominee and his or her outstanding progeny and also compile lists ofthe top winners in position of the nominees in relation to other top dogs of the breed. Each member of thecommittee may request and the statistician shall supply, on a timely basis, such additional information the memberhas requested and which the statistician has at his or her disposal.5.2 On or before June 15 of each year the chairman shall distribute to the members of the committee a packagecontaining these rules and policies and a list of all nominees together with the information supplied by thestatistician and any exceptional factors, pro or con, known by the chairman which may be of benefit to the membersin their deliberation.5.3 Each member of the committee shall make an in-depth examination of all nominees and on or before July15 of each year and shall return to the Chairman a "yes" or "no" vote with respect to each nominee together withany additional information gathered by the member which might be pertinent to the selection of nominees forrecommendation to the Board of Directors.5.4 The chairman shall compile the votes and send the results to the members together with a final selection listlisting the nominees, not exceeding five (5) Brittanys, no more than three (3) of either sex, receiving the highestnumber of affirmative votes from a majority of the members and any new or additional information submitted bythe members with respect to the nominees on said final selection list.5.5 On or before August 15 of each year each member of the committee shall return to the chairman a "yes" or"no" vote with respect to the nominees on said final selection list and those nominees receiving an affirmative votefrom a majority of the members shall be recommended to the Board of Directors for election to the Hall of Fame.5.6 On or before September 1 of each year the chairman shall provide the information on all dogs and bitchesnominated to the Hall of Fame complete with their records to the editor of "The American Brittany" to be printed inthe October issue.SECTION 6 - ELECTION BY BOARD OF DIRECTORS6.1 All recommendations by the committee for election to the Hall of Fame, in any year, shall be presented tothat annual meeting of the Board of Directors which first convenes after the February 1 nominated deadline.6.2 A two-thirds (2/3) majority vote by the Board of Directors at which a quorum is present shall benecessary for election of a recommended dog or bitch to the Hall of Fame.SECTION 7 - APPEAL PROCEDURES7.1 If a dog or bitch has been nominated but after the second five (5) consecutive year period of considerationhas not been recommended to the Board of Directors for election or has been recommended to the Board ofDirectors for election but not elected, on or before April 1, of the year following the end of the second fifth yearconsecutive year an appeal on behalf of such nominee may be made to the Board of Directors by any member, ingood standing, of the ABC.7.2 The appeal shall be made by a petition signed by not less than one hundred (100) active and/or lifemembers, in good standing, of the ABC of which not more than fifty percent (50%) shall reside in any one (1)region of the ABC. At the time of filing the petition there shall be attached to it a statement setting f forth the basisof the appeal.116
