As chairman of the Institute of TransportationEngineers (ITE) Expert Witness Council, Tedwas instrumental in helping bring about legislationthat revamped railroad grade crossingsafety. Ted has devoted his career to deliveringsolutions that have contributed to saving andimproving the quality of life. Ted served aschairman of the Texas Society of ProfessionalEngineers Merger Committee that broughtTexas A&M University and West Texas StateUniversity together to establish engineeringeducation at West Texas A&M University. Heworked and met with Governor Mark White inAustin to establish the Buffalo Lake HeritageAssociation. Abrahamson & Associates hasperformed site development engineering andsurveying for the West Texas A&M UniversityEvent Center and nearby Collegiate Stationalong Tierra Blanca Creek. The Abrahamsonshave assisted in growing Amarillo and thePanhandle region. One branch of civil engineeringfocuses on site development of land bydesigning the surface grading for drainage,paving, and utilities. Their site engineering hasbeen praised by First American Bank headquarters,Bruckner’s Truck facility, Travel Centers ofAmerica, William’s Travel Center, Flying J TravelCenter, Health South, BSA Surgery, Ben E. KeithFoods, and Fed-X Freight. Their structuralengineering expertise includes retrofit of theRick Husband Amarillo International AirportVOR antenna and in-depth study for correctionsto the Potter County District Courts building.Both Ted and George are highly educated,credentialed and qualified, and proficient in thelatest state-of-the-art technology. Ted is a LifeMember of the National Society of ProfessionalEngineers, as well as Fellow and Life Member ofITE, past president and chairman of numerousprofessional organizations and committees. Hispublished case works include contributionsto industry journals and reports. George isa member of the National and Texas Societiesof Professional Engineers, American Society ofCivil Engineers, TexasSociety of ProfessionalSurveyors, and severalrelated professionalorganizations. They arerecognized by theirpeers as leaders in theirfields and are honoredrecipients of numerousprestigious awards.Ted and his twosons George and Steveare all active in the BoyScouts of America. Allthree are Eagle Scoutsand Life Members ofthe National EagleScout Association. Ted received his 70-YearActive Scout Veteran award in 2009 and manyScout Leadership honors including those inrecognition of his participation in multipleareas of Scouting. Ted and George are involvedin many other civic organizations. They areRotary International Paul Harris Fellow recipientsand long standing members of theAmarillo Chamber of Commerce. George ispast board president of Goodwill Industries,past chairman of the Better Business Bureau,and past president of Amarillo West Rotary;in 2010 he received his 50-Year Active ScoutVeteran award.Abrahamson & Associates is proud to befamily owned and operated.
