Area businesses export an increasinglydiverse array of products to markets outsideof Amarillo. Contemporary industriesthat increase Amarillo’s opportunity for astable economic future include aircraft andwind energy manufacturing facilities. Windenergy companies like Alstom Energy,based in France, and Zarges AluminumSystems, based in Germany, have recentlycome to the city to build components forwind turbines. The completion of theirassembly plants in east Amarillo has addedto a growing industrial presence along thenortheastern quadrant of Loop 335. BellHelicopter Textron, also located east ofthe city in facilities provided by the City ofAmarillo, has returned to Amarillo after atime of being away.
