The business that is the center <strong>of</strong>his life began serving residences as AllenPlumbing Company soon after World War II.Allen’s continuous ownership since that timeand his hands-on dedication to excellent servicehas caused the company to grow to one <strong>of</strong>the largest commercial and industrial plumbingservices in the Amarillo area with a customerbase <strong>of</strong> over 4,000. His company hasgrown from just a solo operation to nowemploying over forty employees. Expansionfacilitated the company’s move to its currentlocation at 404 South Hayden. The use <strong>of</strong> theformer home <strong>of</strong> Clark Brick Company, refurbishedand branded with Allen’s Tri-StateMechanical orange and white paint scheme,has been a superb recycle <strong>of</strong> a historic building.Initially the company started with the onlyelectric sewer machine in Amarillo and onepickup to haul it to service calls. Allen’s Tri-State Mechanical still <strong>of</strong>fers residential serviceincluding plumbing, heating and air conditioning,and residential appliance repair.However, as technology has advanced, thenow more aptly named mechanical companyhas diversified to serve commercial andindustrial customers. The company’s distinctiveorange and white fleet <strong>of</strong> forty vehicles isdispatched daily to provide twenty-four hourfull service to both the Texas and OklahomaPanhandles and surrounding states.Those services are primarily commercialplumbing, pumping, heating and air conditioning,camera inspection, boiler repair,refrigeration, line washing, and commercialrestaurant equipment installation and repair.As Amarillo and the surrounding regiongrows, so does Allen’s Tri-State Mechanical.The firm <strong>of</strong>fers mechanical contracting fornew construction and repair and their commercialand industrial customer base haskept pace with the industrial growth inAmarillo’s great economy. Their work withbig industries in Amarillo has grown to theplace where “they help keep the big wheelsgoing.” Allen’s Tri-State Mechanical works forcounty and city governmental entities providingservices for their facilities and publicinfrastructure as well.Being a leader in providing value-addedservices to customers by creating successfulpartnerships with them is the mission <strong>of</strong>Allen’s Tri-State Mechanical.
