Helix Mobile Producer On-Demand User’s GuideVideo Mode and Encoding Complexity are 2 parameters that come fromRealVideo encoders that will be applied to all the video codecs. Note that forRealMedia encoding, the definition is more precise.Change Frame RateFrame rate is specified on a per-audience basis for the video stream (this allowsdifferent video streams in a multi-rate file to have different frame rates). Thevalue is specified in frames per second, with an accuracy of 1 decimal place.(example: 30 fps, or 7.5 fps)The acceptable range is 0.5 up to 30 frames per second (0.5 would representone frame ever two seconds).Maximum Frame RateIn multi-rate files, each video stream can have its own frame rate setting. Thereis no guarantee that the target frame rate will be achieved. Limiting factorswill include the frame rate of the source, the bit rate of the video stream, thedimensions of the video stream, the codec used, and the load on the machine.RealVideo codecs should be feed all video frames, along with the target framerate to allow the codec to decide how to achieve the best results. For example,if the target frame rate is 15 fps, but the bit rate and frame size make achievingthis consistently impossible, the RealVideo codecs will drop down to a lowerconstant frame rate for the best end user experience.Select this option to change the frame rate (the number of frames per second,or fps) in the original video source. Note that reducing the frame ratedecreases the bandwidth used by the encoder and might affect the minimumbit rate.Be aware that reducing the frame rate diminishes the quality of the motion inthe video stream and that it’s not necessary to do this for most video sources.40
