• Celebrated Founders’ Day - 25 th of August 2010. Mr. Chetan Bhagat, renowned<br />
author, youth icon and one of the 100 most influential people in the world<br />
addressed.<br />
• Saori Sadoshima, Director of the Writing Centre of Waseda University, Tokyo,<br />
Japan, was invited as visiting faculty at the Writing Centre in August-September<br />
2010. She also conducted workshops for faculty and students on Academic<br />
Writing and Plagiarism.<br />
• Visit by Professor Robert Witmer from Sophia University, Japan.<br />
• Exchange programme with Tullinge Gymnasium, Stockholm, Sweden (Athena<br />
Programme of the Swedish government).<br />
• H. C. Chopdekar, Assistant Professor, Department of Konkani, was awarded<br />
Literary Award by Goa Konkani Academy for his One-Act play collection,<br />
‘Kunvadi’.<br />
• Sangeeta G. Sankhalkar was sanctioned a UGC Minor Research Project titled<br />
“Characterization of Moringa oleifera for its antioxidant molecules in vegetative<br />
and reproductive tissues”.<br />
• Rupali Tamuly was awarded a two-year minor Research project titled “Changing<br />
population structure: A case study in Goa’s Education and Employment Scenario”<br />
by UGC.<br />
• Champions at the 16 th Goa Yuva Mahotsav, held at Ponda - 15 th and 16 th January,<br />
