• Attended a Course on ‘Language Contact in South Asia’ directed by Prof. Hans<br />

Henrich Hock, C.I.I.L, Mysore, 10 th January 2010 – 31 st January 2011.<br />

• As a member of ‘The Terminology Committee’ under the Directorate of Official<br />

Language, participated in the several workshops organized by the Directorate to<br />

prepare and finalize the various technical terminologies in Konkani.<br />

• As resource person, participated in the workshop for preparing linguistic<br />

terminology in Konkani, organized by the Western Regional Language Centre,<br />

Deccan College, Pune, 6 th to 13 th December, 2010.<br />

in collaboration with Shri Guru Kala Sangam, Priol, 16 th January, 2011.<br />

• Attended Refresher Course in Languages organized by the Academic Staff College,<br />

Goa University, 8 th to 28 th February, 2011.<br />

• Attended National Seminar on “Nagarjun, Kedarnath Agarwal Evam Samsher<br />

Bahadr Singh Ka Kavya Vimarsh” organized by Central Directorate of Hindi, HRD,<br />

New Delhi and H. Arvind Pande Manch in collaboration with Department of Hindi,<br />

Goa University, Goa University, 10 th to 12 th February, 2011.<br />

• Attended National Seminar on “Konkani Ani Musalman Samaj Bhashik Ani<br />

• Invited as Resource person at the 2 nd All Goa Children’s Literary Meet, organized<br />

by Goa Konkani Academy, Panaji, Margao, 9 th December, 2010.<br />

• Invited as a Resource person at the 12 th Yuva Konkani Sahitya Sammelan, held at<br />

S.S Angle Higher Secondary School, Canacona, 11 th and 12 th December, 2010.<br />

• Invited as a Goan Short Story Writer to present Konkani Story (Writers Showcase:<br />

Konkani Katha - Is it mature?) at the Goa Arts & Literary Festival, organized by the<br />

International Centre, Goa, 13 th December, 2010.<br />

• Invited as a one of the Judges for selecting best Konkani Children’s book for the<br />

Award 2010, Goa Konkani Academy, Panaji.<br />

Awards Honours Conferred<br />

Prakash Parienkar was awarded first National Bal Sahitya award for Konkani language<br />

for the Konkani book titled “Igadi Bigadi Tigadi Tha”. He was felicitated for contribution<br />

to Literature by the Swami Vivekanand Smurti Sangh, Keri, on the occasion of Silver<br />

Jubilee year on 12 th January, 2011. He was also awarded Sattari Asmitai Puraskar 2010<br />

for achievement in the field of Literature at a function organized by Grammin ani<br />

Sanscrutik Sanstha, Valpoi, at Thane, Sattari, 27 th March, 2010.<br />
