Major Thrust Areas of Research and Achievements
During the current academic year as part of its research thrust, the department focused
on International Political economy, South Asian regionalism, Politics of inclusion and
exclusion and supplemented it with numerous activities relating to advocacy and
extension. The faculty published in the area of foreign policy and South Asian cooperation
and was empanelled for teaching and examinership for Universities in India and abroad.
The department maintained active links with the undergraduate colleges by having
regular interaction over teaching and curriculum with College faculty and also actively
engaged with its alumni by organizing special coaching classes for competitive exams.

Major Thrust Areas of Research and Achievements
The Centre has been actively engaged in different programmes besides teaching and
research activities in Latin American and International Studies. A number of academic
talks and round table discussions were organized.
Visiting Scholars
• Raywat Deonandan, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Ottawa, Canada,
delivered a lecture titled “Indo-Caribbean Identity”, 16 th July, 2010.
