Major Thrust Areas of Research and Achievements<br />
During the current academic year as part of its research thrust, the department focused<br />
on International Political economy, South Asian regionalism, Politics of inclusion and<br />
exclusion and supplemented it with numerous activities relating to advocacy and<br />
extension. The faculty published in the area of foreign policy and South Asian cooperation<br />
and was empanelled for teaching and examinership for Universities in India and abroad.<br />
The department maintained active links with the undergraduate colleges by having<br />
regular interaction over teaching and curriculum with College faculty and also actively<br />
engaged with its alumni by organizing special coaching classes for competitive exams.<br />

The Centre has been actively engaged in different programmes besides teaching and<br />
research activities in Latin American and International Studies. A number of academic<br />
talks and round table discussions were organized.<br />

• Raywat Deonandan, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Ottawa, Canada,<br />
delivered a lecture titled “Indo-Caribbean Identity”, 16 th July, 2010.<br />
