Parobo: • Delivered talk on the theme “Caste in Contemporary India: A Discourse” at Equal Opportunity Centre, Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar, Goa, 10 th March, 2011. • Published an article “Bahusaheb and the Elections of 1972” in Vigilant Goa, Ponda, July – October, 2010. • Published an article “Tourism in Goa: Transformations” in Vigilant Goa, Ponda, March – June, 2011. Risbud: • Delivered a lecture on the topic “Goa’s Struggle for Freedom 1946-1961: Reflections and Significance”, Orators Workshop conducted for Secondary and Higher Secondary teaching faculty by Prerna Charitable Trust, Panaji-Goa, as a part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Goa’s Liberation, 22 nd May 2011. • Published an article “Gender Equality and Education”, Gomantak, 23 rd March, 2011. • Published an article, “18 June 1946: Krantivijay, “Sansritic Vartapatra (Goa Edition) special issue, December, 2010. 24

Major Thrust Areas of Research and Achievements During the current academic year as part of its research thrust, the department focused on International Political economy, South Asian regionalism, Politics of inclusion and exclusion and supplemented it with numerous activities relating to advocacy and extension. The faculty published in the area of foreign policy and South Asian cooperation and was empanelled for teaching and examinership for Universities in India and abroad. The department maintained active links with the undergraduate colleges by having regular interaction over teaching and curriculum with College faculty and also actively engaged with its alumni by organizing special coaching classes for competitive exams.
