The faculty members of the Department engaged themselves in research and publications<br />
in their respective areas of specialisation. The thrust areas of the Department include<br />
Indo-Portuguese History, Maritime Studies and Indian History.<br />

• Delivered talk on the theme “Caste in Contemporary India: A Discourse” at Equal<br />
Opportunity Centre, Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar, Goa, 10 th<br />

• Published an article “Bahusaheb and the Elections of 1972” in Vigilant Goa, Ponda,<br />

• Delivered a lecture on the topic “Goa’s Struggle for Freedom 1946-1961:<br />

part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Goa’s Liberation, 22 nd May 2011.<br />
