Major Thrust Areas of Research and Achievements
The Department of Electronics was established during this academic year. The
Department is sanctioned with major research projects by UGC in the area of Embedded
Systems and Signal Processing. The faculty is also involved in digitization of Indian Navy
aircrafts and digital repositories. The Department has collaborated with Altera, USA for
development of embedded technologies. Every year students of Electronics department
participate in industrial training program.
Ongoing Projects/completed during June, 2010 - May, 2011
• G. M. Naik, Innovative Program in Embedded Systems, 1 st April, 2007, 5 years, UGC,
Rs. 75.00 lakhs.
• G. M. Naik and R. S. Gad, Design of hyperspectral smart sensors using soft-core
processor and IP cores, March, 2010, 3 years, UGC, 9.33 lakhs.
• R. S. Gad and G. M. Naik, Non-invasive Glucometer, March, 2010, 3 years, ICMR, Rs.
22.00 lakhs.
Infrasturcture
Workstation, (Xeon processor), Wireless LAN (Intel Quad processor), SRS Lock–In-
Amplifier(SR-830), Mat lab DSP Blocksets(Signal Processing, Filtering etc.), DSP kit (TMS
320), NI LAbview kit (NI Speedy 33).

Other Information
• Students of M. Sc. Electronics won the 1 st place at International contest organized
by Mentor Graphics in January, 2011.
