DEATH BEFORE ADAM’S FALL<br />

EVERY GREEN HERB AS FOOD<br />
This is the comm<strong>and</strong> God gave regarding the food before the fall: "See, I have given you every<br />
herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, <strong>and</strong> every tree whose fruit yields<br />
seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, <strong>and</strong> to<br />
everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for<br />
food.” (Genesis 1:28-30)<br />
Thus both animals <strong>and</strong> men were not eating meat originally They were all vegetarian<br />
originally. Plants are not “alive” in the biblical sense of nephesh chayyah, only animals <strong>and</strong><br />
man.<br />
The plants or the vegetables are essentially the sustainer of life. It is through these that all<br />
living get healing <strong>and</strong> regeneration. Eating them is not considered as killing. This is because it<br />
comes just above that of elemental matter which have no life. Vegetations though life<br />
providing do not have souls <strong>and</strong> hence given as food for both animals <strong>and</strong> man. “ Plants are<br />
