A concert by the National<br />

Philharmonic Orchestra in Peru<br />

In the framework of a series of<br />

celebrations held throughout the year, the<br />

<strong>UNESCO</strong> Office in Lima and the University<br />

of Lima organized a Gala Concert on<br />

24 March dedicated to the young<br />

Pakistani Nobel Peace Prize laureate<br />

Malala Yousafzai. The Philharmonic<br />

Orchestra of the University of Lima, the<br />

National Choir and the National Children’s<br />

Choir performed Mexican composer<br />

Arturo Márquez’s piece, Alas (a Malala)<br />

(‘Wings to Malala’).<br />
