This is especially important in the case <strong>of</strong> capacitors used above 660V where large<br />

derating factors are required. At voltages <strong>of</strong> 3.3kV and 11kV it is not unusual to<br />

find fuses rated at three or four times capacitor current. With such large fuses it<br />

becomes important to ensure that the energy required for correct operation <strong>of</strong> the<br />

fuse is considerably less than the energy required to cause the capacitor tank to
