Christine M. Vorwerk
Christine M. Vorwerk is a German artist, whose work consists of drawings,
abstract paintings, and photography.
The common topic of the images belonging to the cycle “EQUINOX” is that
state in nature when, twice a year, day and night are of equal length all
over the earth, marking the beginning of spring and autumn. It is a state in
which all dynamic powers of nature appear balanced and stable, referring
to mental and emotional balance: equanimity.
Thus, for example, the ram’s horn in EQUINOX II alludes to the beginning
of spring, called first point of Aries. At the same time the influence of past
seasons is still present, represented by autumn’s pears and the winter
bleakness of the stones.
