Paula Branco Pereira was born in 1978 in Portugal. Paula is a teacher
of Visual Education and has a master degree in Arts. Devotes herself
to painting, installation, performance and photography. Held several
exhibitions in Portugal and abroad. Received two artist diplomas, by
the International Academy Citta Di Roma in Italy and N&G in Barcelona.
Some of her works were selected for magazine covers, books, posters and
exhibitions. She was the jury of a painting contest in an Irish Museum.
Won two first prizes in painting and international honors. Was selected
for the front cover of Hidden Treasure YearBook.

I would say my paintings are inspired in many different cultures and my
influences are first and foremost everything I see, feel and experience
traveling, but I have always enjoyed studying the particular work of
Picasso, Klimt, Matisse, Warhol and other great Masters. In an approach
to interpreting reality, my compositions combine the eternal theme of
human figure and portraiture reconstructed with an artistic touch of
colors, lines, patterns, textures.
I like that my artistic works had the very obvious impact of inciting
people’s curiosity about the implicit narrative and immediately had
people conjuring up a mental image of something. But if I’ve made
a picture and that’s how I wanted it to be - hopefully it can speak for
itself and whatever it says to the viewer - it’s the right message because
there isn’t a wrong and a right message. I want that each person takes
something a little different from the same picture and I’m happy with
that.
