Pedro Charters d’Azevedo knows what he wants to achieve with this<br />
<strong>the</strong>me using it in a sensitive, intelligent and balanced way to realise his<br />
aim <strong>of</strong> instilling in us <strong>the</strong> appreciation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> peculiar things around us –<br />
waste! Starting with this initial aim, <strong>the</strong> artist developed a way to create<br />
awareness <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> senses; sight, hearing and touch. Subsequently, he<br />
has moved away from this principle in order to expound his boundaries<br />
by forsaking drawing from <strong>the</strong> observation <strong>of</strong> form, light and shadow.<br />
Instead, by developing various forms and sources <strong>of</strong> illumination,<br />
shade, texture and movement, he encourages <strong>the</strong> viewer to look inside<br />
himself to reflect and to build upon his artistic knowledge.<br />
