Maria Manuel Pires was born in Portugal into an<br />
artistic family whose nurture and influence helped to<br />
develop her taste for art from an early age. Maria’s<br />
passion drove her to study for herself <strong>the</strong> great<br />
masters <strong>of</strong> painting, painting techniques and different<br />
artistic movements. Beginning her career in 1997,<br />
she has exhibited in a wide number <strong>of</strong> individual and<br />
collective exhibitions both national and international.<br />
She has won three gold medals, one silver and an<br />
Honourable Mention at international art exhibitions.<br />
