‘’<strong>Art</strong>e tells <strong>the</strong> unspeakable, expresses<br />
<strong>the</strong> inexpressible and translates <strong>the</strong><br />
untranslatable - Leonardo da Vinci’’<br />
This self-taught artist was born in<br />
Mozambique and has lived in Portugal<br />
since 1974. She began painting in<br />
1984 since when she has attended<br />
many painting, drawing and art history<br />
courses in different Portuguese art<br />
schools amongst <strong>the</strong>m <strong>the</strong> National<br />
Society for Fine <strong>Art</strong>s and Lisbon<br />
University. Gulnar has participated in<br />
many solo and collective exhibitions<br />
since 2000 and is represented in public<br />
and private collections in Portugal<br />
and abroad. In <strong>the</strong> process <strong>of</strong> her<br />
development, she has experimented<br />
with many different techniques but<br />
she is currently concentrating on<br />
<strong>the</strong> use <strong>of</strong> acrylic, mixed media and<br />
collage.<br />
Gulnar is a member <strong>of</strong> The National<br />
Society <strong>of</strong> Fine <strong>Art</strong>s in Portugal and<br />
