Jan Jensen
The mainstream of modern art reflects our busy
schedules - continually on the move. The ability
to keep pace with this fast-moving current means
adopting a competitive edge - it’s about being
in front. In the international world of art the
constant flow of images is immense. Artists who
continue to express themselves through painting
find themselves frustrated as they furiously try
to accumulate broad, expressionist marks on
kilometres of canvas. Jan doesn’t bother. He starts
where the others left off. For Jan, time is not a thief,
but an expansive source allowing him to practise
his perceptive craftsmanship. His pictures are not
modern - they are timeless!
