There is doubtless a word in Italian for the mood that pervades Claudio’s work.
As long as it’s seen to be fun, then he is happy. So let’s just say “Commedia
dell’Arte”. Whatever inspiration he discovered was gleaned from found and stored
objects, which suddenly came to life when restored and recycled. In Napoleon’s
Famous Words illustrated here, old wooden printing blocks in the colours of
the French flag suddenly become reality. The mirror effect allows the viewer
to read it backwords.! Nature’s Bounty shows reconsctructed flowers made
using both miniature clothes’ pegs, paper shredding and a piece of tree bark.
Double Vision is a mirrored effect composition using partly glass bricks. Recently
Claudio came second out of over 1.500 artists in the EAC Art Awards with this
composition “Napoleon’s Words”. The award ceremony took place at the House of
Lords in London. This artwork attracted great attention and some comments can be
seen below: “This is an extraordinary piece of contemporary artwork. The subject
is very unique, with fabulous creativity. I hope that many people like myself get to
appreciate his talent and geniality.” Sara de la Torre
