Drawing is <strong>the</strong> language <strong>of</strong> all arts... for Maria Claudino it’s her main tool.<br />
Her pictures have an intellectual education which is unusual nowadays. The author grows <strong>the</strong> models which she <strong>the</strong>n transcribes to <strong>the</strong> canvas from<br />
Mo<strong>the</strong>r Nature herself. To interpretate nature <strong>the</strong> author has a concept <strong>of</strong> <strong>Art</strong>, perfected by her mind, a principle which had inspired <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>ory <strong>of</strong><br />
ideas <strong>of</strong> Plato and Aristotle, where it was believed that God had created <strong>the</strong> world and its objects and beings from archetypes or perfect shapes.<br />
Maria Claudino feels herself a co-creator <strong>of</strong> nature and so her still life acquires <strong>the</strong> features <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> original creation, drawing her inspiration from<br />
Nature’s own pieces <strong>of</strong> <strong>Art</strong>.<br />
On her still life, colours run around <strong>the</strong> reds even on <strong>the</strong> darker and rusty colours. Her works areas au<strong>the</strong>ntic and realistic as a photograph but <strong>the</strong><br />
author is able to catch more than <strong>the</strong> photographic lens itself. This ability <strong>of</strong> using her colours and drawings to search <strong>the</strong> purity <strong>of</strong> her still life is<br />
Maria Claudino’s unmatched skill.<br />
