appointment in the <strong>Marine</strong> <strong>Corps</strong> Reserve through the OCC Program. Those<br />
who are exceptionally qualified (distinguished military student or<br />
graduate) or have prior service in the <strong>Marine</strong> <strong>Corps</strong> may be considered<br />
for appointment in the Regular <strong>Marine</strong> <strong>Corps</strong>. In either case sucessful<br />
completion of OCS is a precommission reauirement and it will not be<br />
waived.<br />
a. Be a U.S. citizen.<br />
b. Abide by the regulations of the parent service.<br />
c. Obtain a conditional release from any parent service obligation.<br />
2. Applications should be forwarded to the CMC (MRRO-6) via the<br />
appropriate military chain of command. The following information must<br />
be included.<br />
a. Pull name of applicant.<br />
b. SSN.<br />
c. Certified copy of birth certificate.<br />
d. Transcript(s) of all college grades and credits.<br />
e. Qualifying SAT/ACT or ASVAB (EL) score.<br />
f. Current Standard Form 88, Report of Medical Examination (in<br />
duplicate).<br />
g. Current standard Form 93, Report of Medical History (in<br />
duplicate).<br />
h. Certified copies of all contracts with the parent service (Army<br />
or Air Force).<br />
i. Recent photograph, full-length, in uniform, uncovered, left<br />
shoulder forward.<br />
j. Certified evaluation(s) of any active duty for training.<br />
k. Brief statement of reasons for requesting appointment in the<br />
<strong>Marine</strong> <strong>Corps</strong>.<br />
l. Evidence of satisfactory completion of a National Agency Check.<br />
m. Evidence of conditional release for appointment in the U.S.<br />
<strong>Marine</strong> <strong>Corps</strong> as authorized by competent authority. Conditional<br />
releases should allow a minimum of 90 days for processing at Headquarters,<br />
U.S. <strong>Marine</strong> <strong>Corps</strong>. It should be noted failure to complete<br />
Officer Candidates School and/or accept an appointment will result in<br />
the applicant’s being returned to his previous service.<br />
3. In addition, the applicant must be interviewed by two active duty<br />
<strong>Marine</strong> officers and be administered the physical fitness test (PFT).<br />
The reports of interviews to include a specific recommendation and the<br />
PFT scores attained will be forwarded directly to the Commandant of the<br />
<strong>Marine</strong> <strong>Corps</strong> (MRRO-6).<br />
4. Selectees upon acceptance are ordered to report to Officer<br />
Candidates School, <strong>Marine</strong> <strong>Corps</strong> Development and Education Command,<br />
Quantico, Virginia, as officer candidates. Upon successful completion<br />
of OCS, selectees will be offered commissions in the U.S. <strong>Marine</strong> <strong>Corps</strong><br />
Reserve. No guarantees as to military occupational fields will be made<br />
prior to appointment.<br />
3011. ASSIGNMENT TO AVIATION TRAINING FOR MARINE CORPS MIDSHIPMEN FROM<br />
THE U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY AND NROTC UNITS<br />
1. Male midshipmen of the U.S. Naval Academy or NROTC who are <strong>Marine</strong>options,<br />
may request student naval aviator (SNA) or student naval<br />
flight officer (SNFO) (Naval Academy only) training prior to commissioning.<br />
Requests will be submitted to the Commandant of the <strong>Marine</strong><br />
<strong>Corps</strong> (MRRO-6) via the appropriate <strong>Marine</strong> officer; i.e., the <strong>Marine</strong><br />
<strong>Corps</strong> Representative, U.S. Naval Academy or the <strong>Marine</strong> Officer<br />
Instructor. Requests for aviation training must include:<br />
