2. Eligibility Requirements<br />
a. In addition to the academic requirements outlined in paragraph<br />
2201 of this Manual, applicants for the OC and AOC Classes must be<br />
graduates of a regionally accredited baccalaureate granting institution.<br />
Seniors in good standing at accredited institutions are eligible<br />
for enrollment. Seniors must be carrying an academic course load which<br />
would enable them to complete requirements for a baccalaureate degree<br />
prior to the convening date of the class for which they are applying.<br />
Applicants who have a baccalaureate degree from a foreign college or<br />
university must be eligible for graduate studies at a regionally<br />
accredited college or university. A letter from an appropriate college<br />
official validating their undergraduate degree as aceptable for<br />
graduate study is required.<br />
b. Applicants for the OCC (Law) Program must be enrolled in their<br />
final year or have graduated form an American Bar Association<br />
accredited law school. Prior to attending Officer Candidates School,<br />
the applicant must have graduated from an accredited school of law and<br />
have been admitted to practive law before the bar of a Federal court or<br />
the highest court of a state or the District of Columbia.<br />
3. Training Requirements. Members of the OCC Program are required to<br />
attend one training course of prescribed duration at MCCDC, Quantico,<br />
Virginia, and must agree to participate in such training for a minimum<br />
period as specified in their current service agreement prior to withdrawal<br />
from training.<br />
4. Active Duty Requirements<br />
a. Active Duty Requirements after Appointment to Commissioned<br />
Grade<br />
(1) Officer Candidate (Ground) and (Law). Must serve on EAD,<br />
in a commissioned status, for the period specified in their service<br />
agreement. Upon acceptance of an appointment to commissioned grade,<br />
members will be ordered to attend the The Basic School (TBS), MCCDC,<br />
Quantic, Virginia. Upon completion of TBS these officers will be<br />
assigned a MOS and ordered to an appropriate duty assignment. Members<br />
of the OCC (Law) Program will be ordered to Naval Justice School upon<br />
completion of TBS.<br />
2. Aviation Officer Candidates (AOC). AOC’s will be assigned to<br />
TBS prior to assignment to aviation training. AOC’s must serve on EAD<br />
for a period of time as specified in their current service agreement<br />
from the date designated as a naval aviator.<br />
(a) In the event an officer is separated from an aviation<br />
training program as a result of flight failure, practical work failure,<br />
or physical disqualification, the officer will be required to serve on<br />
EAD in a commissioned status for the period of 48 months as stated on<br />
the service agreement, from the date initially assigned to EAD as a<br />
commissioned officer.<br />
(b) Should the officer be separated from an aviation training<br />
program as the result of academic failure, or drops at own request, the<br />
officer will be required to serve on active duty in a commissioned<br />
status for the period of 48 months, as stated on the service agreement,<br />
from the date assigned to EAD, plus an extension of active service<br />
equal to the time spent in flight training.<br />
b. Active Duty Requirements for AOC Found not Physically Qualified<br />
for Flight Training Upon Reporting for Active Duty. Members of the AOC<br />
Program who, after reporting for EAD, fail to qualify physically for<br />
flight training, but qualify physically for appointment to commissioned<br />
grade may be offered the opportunity to be classified as OCC (Ground).<br />
They will assume the OCC (Ground) active duty obligation.<br />
5. Orders to Attend Training. Appropriate orders to attend officer<br />
candidate training will be issued by the CMC. Members of the OCC<br />
Program will be issued orders authorizing travel at personal expense<br />
subject to reimbursement upon reporting to Quantico, Virginia. If any<br />
