CIER is supported by several donor and TC organisations to promote appropriate technologies
(such as KFW, DED, EU , Banco de Brazil, etc). Around the nineties CIER introduce
neem trees in the area of Nova Venecia. CIER has worked out and translated extension and
training manuals. CIERS carry out workshops and seminars on how to make use of neem.

EMBRAPA
The governmental extension organisation EMBRAPA is said to have planted about 400 000
neem trees in Goias and Mato Grosso, Tocantins. EMBRAPA is about to promote the use of
commercial neem pesticides for farmers and carried out some trials to evaluate the efficacy
of neem product under the local growing conditions.
In total it is planned to re-afforest huge areas with some million neem trees until 2003.
