• By June 30, 2008, the Valley Tribal Council will adopt, implement<br />

and enforce a smoke-free workplace policy for all worksites on<br />

tribal land (excluding gaming), which at a minimum meets the<br />

standards <strong>of</strong> Labor Code 6404.5. (Combination objective for<br />

indicators 2.12 and 2.2.3).<br />

2.2.3 Proportion <strong>of</strong> businesses on American Indian lands with a<br />

voluntary smoke-free workplace policy, excluding casino/<br />

leisure complexes, that is consistent with protection provided<br />

to other <strong>California</strong> workers under <strong>California</strong> Labor<br />

Code 6404.5<br />

Proportion <strong>of</strong> American Indian tribes with a smoke-free worksite<br />

policy, excluding casino/leisure complexes, that is<br />

consistent with protection provided to other <strong>California</strong> workers<br />

under <strong>California</strong> Labor Code 6404.5<br />

• By June 30, 2010, in the cities <strong>of</strong> El Puente and Los Nietos, at least<br />

three Hispanic-owned and operated bars/cantinas (with fewer than<br />

five employees) will adopt voluntary policies to prohibit smoking in<br />

the worksite and within 20 feet or more <strong>of</strong> the outside doorways.<br />

(Combination objective for indicators 2.2.4 and 2.2.8).<br />

• By June 30, 2008, three cities in Gandor County will adopt policies<br />

prohibiting smoking in all enclosed worksites including those with<br />

five or fewer employees and owner-operated bars.<br />

2.2.4 Proportion <strong>of</strong> communities with a policy that regulates indoor<br />

worksite smoking in those areas that are exempted by the state<br />

smoke-free workplace law, such as owner operated bars and<br />

tobacco shops (excluding hotels)<br />

• By June 30, 2009, five major hotels in the City <strong>of</strong> Peaches will<br />

adopt policies that designate the lobby, and common areas such as<br />

the outdoor pool and outdoor dining as smoke-free. (Combination<br />

objective for indicators 2.2.5 and 2.2.6).<br />

• By June 30, 2010, the cities <strong>of</strong> Courtyard, Sheraton, and Holiday<br />

in Travelville County will adopt a policy to prohibit smoking in all<br />

hotel areas including guest rooms, guest room balconies and patios,<br />

lobbies, outdoor pools, and outdoor dining areas. (Combination<br />

objective for indicators 2.2.5 and 2.2.6).<br />

2.2.5 Proportion <strong>of</strong> hotels/motels with a voluntary policy that designates<br />

the following areas as smoke-free: guest rooms, guest<br />

room balconies and patios, lobbies, and outdoor common<br />

areas such as swimming pools, dining patios, reception areas,<br />

hotel entrances, etc.<br />
