1.1 Undergraduate geology textbooks.<br />

There are dozens of college freshman textbooks<br />

that introduce geology. Most are similarly organized<br />

and cover the same basic material. Any college or<br />

university which teaches geology or earth science<br />

will carry one or more of these in their bookstore.<br />

1.2 <strong>Planetary</strong> science textbooks.<br />

These publications cover general planetary science<br />

and typically include chapters on each planet<br />

and planetary system. Most of these books assume<br />

a fundamental background in the sciences.<br />
