designated as no-template controls (NTC). For samples assigned as NTC during
sample set-up, the result will always be printed as zero on the experiment report, even
for positive values. The experiment report highlights a sample that has been assigned
as an NTC. The arrows indicate that despite the very high threshold cycle (Ct) value of
22.43, the result is calculated as 0 instead of the actual value of greater than 150,000
transcripts. Therefore, during analysis of the real-time quantitative reverse-transcription
polymerase chain reaction results, careful evaluation of the NTC Ct values and
amplification curves must be undertaken to ensure that there is no contamination.
