Some young people, you know, make fun once in a while.
Don’t talk too good. Sort of rural. And I have to remind young
folks that breakdancing started in the Gore. Sure. You might
even call it dirty dancing. [Laughter]
But they say, you know, you people up there, you don’t even
have fast food up there. No fast food. Fast food ~o us is a rabbit
hunting. [Laughter]
Give anybody you have to send them to a stress plan. Sure.
We got politicians going for stress management. And the only
stress management I remember as a kid is when my dad told me
to cut my fingernails. [Laughter]
If I was really going to get elected, you know what I would
have done? I would have come here early and.got papers passed
out around and find out what the New England Fire Chiefs
want to hear. I’ve been back there reading what you want ~o
hear. I come in and {ell you what you want to hear. That guy
should be governor of Vermont. Of course, I go see another
group that they may want to hear what you don’t want to hear.
And when I get enough groups together, you get elected. That’s
called demographics. [Laughter]
"Well," I said, "you didn’t even try for the yuppy vote. A
yuppy to us is somebody who don’t know much and who keeps
agreeing with you, agreeing with you. [Laughter]
And the preppies. You have to get the preppies. They have the
money. We had a rich neighbor. The kid had nothing to do. We
let him wash the cow bags. We ealled him a preppie. [Laughter]
