Now I have been running for governor of the State of Vermont
since 1962. I always got these slogans and the interesting
thing of my campaign slogan seems to be pretty popular in
every state I’ve been and I’ve been over in Canada a couple of
times. That’s my best credentials. And they’ve stolen from the
savings and loan. Your great-great-grandchildren will pay for
that. Think about it. [Laughter]

There was the Iran-Contra hearings investigating them
again. Sure. Ollie North there. Ollie, well, we figured quite early
magnetic north ain’t always true north. [Laughter]
Let me tell you something. What an example. He walked on
three felonies, three felonies, and he’s not going to spend one
day in jail and he gets $25,000 a speech. $25,000 a speech. Ever
since I read that I’ve been out breaking windows. [Laughter]
Get even to a politician.

I got a guy Monte Perkins and we call him Money Peak. I sent
this down to Andrew’s basement. They was going to do that big

Some of you have folks come up to Vermont and some of you
Vermonters say, "I’m a native and they put a hose to you and
they get a little uppity." Just behind him about this fellow that

I thought I might have a few sportsmen, they might get

I don’t know howit is here. That local paper up there, I
was talking issues. I got his paper, you got his. I went down to
the editor and "Hey, that’s nothing like I said. those issues are
nothing like I said. Now I want that story retracted." Did you
ever try to get an editor to retract a story? Try it. It’s just as if
