have worked hard at getting the vendors here. What we have
got to work on is getting the attendees here right now working
with the Vendors Association. I went to their first meeting the
first time I was invited to their meeting and they have always
come to the directors meeting so I went to their meeting. I had
quite a bit to say to them, that I am looking for their help and
without their help we won’t exist.
So what I am going to say is work on publicity and get this out
to national publications. I am looking for help. All of you are a
little more articulate about writing than myself. What I am
going to do is rely on is the Boston people are going to get some
releases together to advertise this show because there’s a lot of
members out there that will want to attend this show. So this is
part of our growing. If I get the vendors there and if they don’t
have the people there, they are not wanting to come back. So I
am going to need help. If everybody goes back and gets three,
four, five chiefs, let’s make it a show worth coming to. Thanks.

other unfinished business?
CHIEF JORDAN: No.
PRESIDENT MANSFIELD: Does anyone have any unfinished
business they would like to bring back?
DEPUTY CHIEF EDGAR DUPONT: [Mannville, RI] I
would like to know if I can address the Auditing Committee.
I’ve only been elevated to the rank of Chief in the past monthand-a-half
so I am not on anybody’s list and I am still a Deputy
Chief. I would like to know if I can address a question to the
auditors. There seems to be a discrepancy to the date they
closed out the audit. I think he mentioned the audit was closed
on the 29th of the month.

DEPUTY CHIEF DUPONT: The 22nd. I picked the date out.
RETIRED CHIEF GERARD A. CARLE: [Dracut, MA] Is it
proper at this time to make a comment?
PRESIDENT MANSFIELD: I think so.
RETIRED CHIEF CARLE: If I may, Mr. President, with
your indulgence and with the officers, last year at the meeting I
had a lot of things to say and a lot of things happened through
the year. I can say this truthfully and honestly in the open here
to everybody at the meeting that you know what went on. And
