DEPUTY CHIEF DAVISON: At this time, Secretary Jordan
will make a presentation to President Mansfield.
CHIEF MARTIN J. JORDAN: Well, Wendall, as you conclude
your term, we had another successful year. Our attendance
was up and we’ve had a great banner year. For my last
official duty it gives me great pleasure to honor and to present
you with the Trumpet For Recog.nition of Your Office to Chief
Wendall Mansfield from the NEAFC 1992. Enjoy it with good
luck. [Silver Trumpet presented to President Mansfield] Applause]
PRESIDENT MANSFIELD: Thank you very much.
DEPUTY CHIEF DAVISON: Our newly sworn President
will now swear in the officers and directors of the Association.
President Winslow.
P~RESIDENT CARL H. WINSLOW: Before I do that, I would
like~to make a few comments if I may. Tonight is Chief Mansfield’s
night anal I’ll only take a moment. The honor which you
have given me tonight comes with mixed feelings. I am pleased
and honored to be elected as President of this great Association.
However, I am sad that we’re not able to bestow this honor on
the Chief who encouraged me to become a director. If God had
been willing he would be standing before you tonight. Chief
Ken Wagner gave a lot of time and effort to this Association
and I’m sorry for his death and in my receiving the honor he so
richly deserved. Ken, I know that you’re with us tonight. I want
you to know that I’ll do my best as you would have done in
carrying out the tradition of the New England Association of
Fire Chiefs. Thank you. [Applause]
Now if the newly elected officers would stand and face the
podium and those of you up in ~ihe audience will come up and
join Chief Wehter. Chief. .
[Officers sworn ~n by President Winslow. [Applause]
DEPUTY CHIEF DAVISON: Thank you very much Chief
Winslow. And we certainly owe a great deal to those new people
who have come into our Association to provide the leadership
for the future. As Martin Jordan said this afternoon at the
business meeting, the Association is really headed into the
future with full form and certainly these new people will lead us
that way. we are proud and pleased of their leadership.
Pat Winslow at this time would like to make a presentation to
