cerned that everybody was checked off as they should have
been and we have more ballots than were checked. If we had
less it wouldn’t matter, but it’s the other way around and that’s
not right.
PRESIDENT MANSFIELD: We’ll hear from Chief Wrobel.
CHIEF PETER J. WROBEL: [West Brookfield, MA] Mr.
President, I would like to turn my votes over to Dick Wehter and
make it a unanimous decision. But before I do that, I would like
to say that the way the announcements were made and our
qualifications and who was going to be nominated and stuff
like that, I was not notified of the decision or anything about it.
Only through the grapevine. I asked questions around and
nobody was able to tell me anything. But I think, after hearing
of what some of the other directors were doing, I think I was
CHIEF BRENT T. LEMIRE: [Litchfield, NH] I make a
motion that the Secretary cast one ballot for Dick Wehter as
Secretary-Treasurer.
CHIEF JAMES N. RUSSO: [Hull, MA] Seconded.
PRESIDENT MANSFIELD: The motion is that the Secretary
cast one ballot for Chief Wehter. Any discussion on the
motion.
All those in favor of the motion raise your hand.
[Hands were raised.]
PRESIDENT MANSFIELD: Those opposed?
[Hands were raised.]
PRESIDENT MANSFIELD: Carried. ~
I apologize to you, Chief Wrobel, because I personally didn’t
know you hadn’t been told and I didn’t know Dick Wehter had
been told either. I am apologizing for the whole board and I
have no idea and you are talking of the board being underhanded,
however you said it and I have no concept of that. I do
apologize.
CHIEF PETER J. WROBEL: I don’t know whether there was
anything underhanded, but the information was passed out
before I knew about it. I don’t know if Dick knew about it or not,
but I heard out in the lot it was pretty cut and dried that they
