CHIEF CENTRACCHIO: The Program Committee report
for the 70th Annual Conference is as follows:
First of all, I would-like to thank my committee: Sidney
Thurston, Chief Brian Wade, and Chief George Small for an
excellent job and their support and help throughout the year.
For those of you who did not attend, you missed an excellent
program. We had a total attendance of 235 throughout the three
conferences or seminars and our expenses to date have been
$1683. On behalf of the Program Committee, I think throughout
the last four or five years we’ve done an excellent job with fine,
exemplary talent right within the fire service. I thank you and
thank the Association for a job well done.
PRESIDENT MANSFIELD: You heard the Program Committee
report. What is your pleasure?
CHIEF JOHN J: FLAHERT¥: [West Springfield, MA] I
make a motion to accept as read.
PRESIDENT MANSFIELD: A motion to accept as read from
John Flaherty.
CHIEF MICHAEL T. MURPHY: [Wayland, MA] Second.
Motion made and seconded. Any discussion on the motion?
All those in favor signify by saying aye.
[Aye]
PRESIDENT MANSFIELD: Opposed?
So carried.
Now the report of the Registration Committee. Chief Jordan.
CHIEF MARTIN J. JORDAN: [Portland, ME]Well, we did it
again you heard some of the statistics and you know what we
have done. Pre-registration is 297, which is down from 316 from
last year. And honestly I attribute that to being bored here for
four years at Sturbridge and it is enough. We registered 37 at
the desk. Ladies registration was 121, down from 192. Day
passes were 913, up from 825. The first time ever we have gone
over 900 in that figure. Dues were 280, up from 60. A total
conference attendance of 1,368, up from 1,308 so we gained 60
attendees.
My goal, like Jerry Lewis’ Telethon is one more dollar. We did
it by 64.
Expenses: Cash box 500. Vendors 825. We received 516 for the
banquet. 171 for saleables. Registration of 1287. Day passes 913.
