Many Czechs were interned in the Mauthausen concentration in Upper Austria, where
they were decimated by inhuman forced labour in the quarries.The photo shows the
notorious steps up which inmates had to carry 25-kilo granite slabs to build
the so-called “Czech Wall”. Many of them died from exhaustion.
