RICK And the names will be Mr and Mrs Victor Lazlo.

Elle s’avance vers Rick qui se tourne vers elle.

Plan rapproché de Rick et Ilsa tournés de profil l’un vers l’autre, Rick à gauche, Ilsa à droite.
Ilsa touche le coude de Rick.
ILSA Why my name, Richard ?
On entend maintenant, crescendo, le thème musical « As Time Goes By » à l’orchestre. Rick
prend le bras droit de Ilsa. La caméra se rapproche jusqu’au gros plan sur les profils.
RICK Because you‘re getting on that plane.
ILSA I don‘t understand. What about you?
Rick se tourne vers Louis qui est hors champ à gauche.
RICK I‘m staying here with him till the plane gets safely away.
ILSA No, Richard, no, after what happened to you last night, we‘ve-
Véhémente, elle hoche la tête en signe de dénégation.
RICK Last night we said a great many things… You said I was to do the thinking for both
of us, well, I‘ve done a lot of it since then and it all ends up to one thing, you‘re getting on
that plane with Victor where you belong and-
Rick, minéral, en apparence impassible, contraste avec Ilsa, palpitante et bouleversée.
ILSA But Rick, no, no, I-
RICK And you‘ve got to listen to me. Do you have any idea of what you‘ve got to look
forward to if you stay here? Nine chances out of ten we‘d both end up in a concentration
camp, isn‘t that true Louis?
Rick se tourne vers Louis hors champ à gauche. Zoom arrière de la caméra.
Plan 7.
Plan américain de Louis de trois-quarts face, dans le hangar, devant un bureau, stylo à la
main.
LOUIS I‘m afraid Major Strosser would insist.
Plan 8.
Plan général de la scène. Au premier plan à gauche, dans l’ombre, Louis de profil, tourné
vers la droite. A droite, au deuxième plan, Rick et Ilsa tournés l’un vers l’autre, en pied. A
l’arrière plan au milieu, l’avion.
ILSA You‘re saying this in order to make me go.
Zoom avant vers Rick et Ilsa.
RICK I‘m saying it because it‘s true. Inside of us we both know you belong to Victor.
Plan 9.
Plan rapproché de Rick, en profil perdu au premier plan à gauche, et d’Ilsa au deuxième plan
au milieu, tournée de trois-quarts face vers Rick. Elle baisse les yeux sur « inside of us », puis
les lève à nouveau.
RICK You‘re part of his work, the thing that keeps him going. If that planes leaves the
ground and you‘re not with him you‘ll regret it.
ILSA But…

Contrechamp. Gros plan sur Rick de trois-quarts face à gauche au deuxième plan et d’Ilsa en
profil perdu au premier à droite.
RICK Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life.
Plan 11. Intérieur, nuit ? Couleur. Gros plan du visage de Woody Allen dans la moitié
droite de l’image, les yeux légèrement levés vers le haut et la gauche, un petit reflet de
