TONY I wish I was more light-headed. I hate these screenings.
ROBIN Oh, do you?
TONY Yeah, I‘d much rather see a film with a real audience.
Robin regarde autour d’elle.
ROBIN I feel I should know who all these people are, but I‘m so out of touch, you know.
PLAN 2.
Léger fouetté, puis panoramique vers la droite.
TONY (off) Well, let‘s see… Oh, do you see that guy?
La caméra s’arrête. Zoom avant sur Papadakis qui bavarde en souriant.
TONY (off) That‘s Papadakis, the director of the film we‘re going to see.
ROBIN (off) Oh yeah.
Papadakis se tourne, puis se déplace vers la gauche en serrant des mains et en souriant.
TONY (off) He‘s very arty, pretentious, one of those assholes who film all their films in
black and white.
ROBIN (off) Oh, yes.
PLAN 3.
La caméra cadre en plan américain un jeune homme brun qui parle dans un téléphone mural,
puis zoome sur lui. Il gesticule, visiblement très énervé. Une jeune femme brune à ses côtés
tente de le calmer.
TONY (off) Tom Dale, big star. He‘s in New York, filming the adaptation of the sequel of
a remake.
On entend un timbre d’ascenseur.
PLAN 4.
Une autre partie du hall, avec au second plan la porte d’un ascenseur dont sortent trois
personnes, l’une après l’autre. Le troisième s’arrête, se tourne vers la droite, serre la main à
un couple, tout sourire.
TONY (off) Oh, and getting out of the elevator I see there is a famous critic.
ROBIN (off) Him I recognize.
TONY (off) Oh he used to hate every movie, then he married a young, big-bosomed woman
and now he loves every movie.
PLAN 5.
Retour sur Robin et Tony.
ROBIN Oh God I‘m so out of touch!
TONY Can I get you a refill?
ROBIN Err, oh, well… (Elle s’esclaffe nerveusement) What the hell, why not?
Ils se dirigent maintenant vers la droite, se frayant un chemin dans la foule.
ROBIN You know, if I could think of what to do I would never go back to teaching.
TONY You could work for me.
ROBIN As what? You know, all I‘m good at is Chaucer.
Ils sont arrivés au buffet. Tout en parlant, Tony prend un verre, puis s’apprête à remplir une
coupe.
TONY Well we have a cooking show…
ROBIN A cooking show?
TONY You could do great writers‘ recipes, Chaucer‘s—err—fettucini with clam sauce, Sir
Walter Raleigh‘s gaspacho, err…
ROBIN No, that‘s OK, but I‘m glad you asked me, I… (Elle se tourne vers le fond à
gauche) I‘m having a very nice—arrgh ! (Elle pousse un cri, sursaute, fait un petit bond en
arrière)
PLAN 6.
Au second plan, un grand escalier que descendent Lee et Bonnie.
