COURSE SCOPE:
Blackboard is a web-based software system which is used to support flexible teaching and
learning in face-to-face and distance courses. It provides tools and facilities for online course
management, content management and sharing, assessment management, and online
collaboration and communication. It's an ideal product for creating and deploying online courses
and supplemental class materials. Not only does it offer a rich set of course management tools,
but it can be used without any knowledge of HTML. Bb Basics is a two-day course designed to
teach the fundamentals of using the Bb learning content management system as a student and/or
instructor. Bb Basics serves as a hands-on introduction to Bb functions and features, providing
guided practice with key Bb components. Bb Basics is broken into six course modules. Each
module includes hands-on practical exercises (PEs) that reinforce key concepts and use of
system components. The course is conducted with students using Bb in a Classroom XXI-type
setting. Specific topics include: System Overview and Navigation Tools, Control Panel Features
and Functions, Adding Content to Bb, Course Management Tools, Communication Tools and
Functions, and Assessment Features and Functions. The course is designed to enable
