The curriculum concentrates on materiel management functions as they relate to the<br />

PREREQUISITES:<br />
Attendance to the Manpower and Force Management Course is limited to personnel who are, or<br />
will be, assigned to positions requiring a direct knowledge, or use, of manpower and force<br />
management skills in the performance of their duties. Military personnel in the grades of E-6 or<br />
above and civilians in the grades of GS-07 or above are eligible to attend. Military nominees must<br />
be assigned to, or programmed for, assignment to a position that requires direct knowledge and<br />
use of manpower and force management skills. Military nominees must be in the grades of E-6 or<br />
above with Additional Skill Identifier (ASI) A3. Military officers are eligible to attend on the basis of<br />
job title and assigned responsibility.<br />
COURSE SCOPE:<br />
This course underscores the strategic importance of manpower requirements determination for<br />
the <strong>Army</strong>'s Generating Force. Subject areas covered during the manpower modules of instruction<br />
are tailored to the manpower management functions described in AR 570-4 and AR 71-32. These<br />
functions address the fundamental aspects of planning, programming, and manpower<br />
requirements determination using the Five-Phased Approach. In addition, the course emphasizes<br />
the important individual and joint roles of the US <strong>Army</strong> Manpower Analysis Agency and the <strong>Army</strong><br />
G-3 in the validation of Generating Force Requirements. Manpower-specific subject areas<br />
include requirements determination, manpower documentation, the Total <strong>Army</strong> Analysis (TAA),<br />
Defense Financial Management, and Generating Force standardization. Force managementspecific<br />
subject areas include the Force Design Update (FDU), the TAA, Table of Organization<br />
and Equipment (TOE) development, Basis of Issue Plan (BOIP) development, and Manpower<br />
