PREREQUISITES:<br />
This course is designed for Soldiers who have been designated or anticipate being designated as<br />
a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). All CORs must complete the CPCE COR course or<br />
equivalent before the contracting officer may issue a letter appointment. CORs who manage large<br />
or complex contracts should consider taking the CPCE course or its equivalent every 5 years to<br />
maintain currency in COR practices. This course is open to any personnel who works with<br />
contractors in their daily work functions.<br />
COURSE SCOPE:<br />
This course provides the deploying Soldier with an overall view of the contracting process, with<br />
the major emphasis in contract administration in theater of operations. The College of<br />
Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) provides training to individuals so they can be<br />
certified by their contracting office to become CORs. Discussions focus on services, supplies,<br />
medical, and construction contracts. The course is designed to help the student become familiar<br />
with statutory laws and regulations that govern the contracting process with emphasis on the<br />
Federal Acquisition Regulation and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation.<br />

Nominees should have a need for decision analysis methodologies and techniques to generate<br />
rigorous and logically defensible decisions within the defense department.<br />
COURSE SCOPE:<br />
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the qualitative and quantitative<br />
methodologies which can be applied in conducting a decision analysis of a project or program.<br />
Practical experience is gained through the use of actual case studies which have been adapted<br />
for instructional purposes. Specific subjects include statistical tools, probability theory,<br />
distributions, and random variables; data collection and preliminary analysis; decision theory and<br />
integrative practice through small group workshops based on actual case studies.<br />
This course is releasable to students from all requesting foreign countries without restrictions.<br />
