PREREQUISITES:<br />
The Operational Contract Support Course prepares officers, warrant officers, non-commissioned<br />
officers, and civilians for performing contract planning and management duties in tactical unit<br />
staffs (brigade through theater <strong>Army</strong>) for deployed operations. There are no restrictions as to<br />
grade, rank, position, active duty or reserve as long as the student is assigned to or being<br />
assigned to units responsible for performing contract planning and management duties.<br />
COURSE SCOPE: This course is designed for commissioned officers, warrant officers,<br />
noncommissioned officers, and civilians assigned to tactical unit staffs (brigade through theater<br />
<strong>Army</strong>) who will be responsible for assisting in the planning and integrating of contracted support<br />
during deployed operations. This is not a career development course but a "how to" course for<br />
preparing acquisition-ready requirements packages and managing a unit's overall COR<br />
responsibilities for basic service and supply contracts. Graduates will learn, through practical<br />
exercises, how to prepare performance work statements, independent government cost<br />
estimates, purchase requests; and how to conduct performance oversight techniques necessary<br />
to assure mission success.<br />

Nominees should possess OPMS Functional Area 49 (ORSA) or be a member of the CP-1515<br />
civilian career field. A graduate degree in ORSA or ORSA-related field is preferred. Other military<br />
and civilians in ORSA or ORSA-related positions may attend on a space-available basis.<br />
COURSE SCOPE:<br />
Short courses designed to provide graduate or postgraduate level instruction in subjects of<br />
interest to <strong>Army</strong> operations research analysts. These courses provide professionals the<br />
opportunity to gain an in-depth knowledge of a particular subject and to keep pace with the latest<br />
developments in the field of operations research. This course supports the OPMS Functional<br />
Area 49 Program and the GS-1515 career field. Courses are taught by contracted instructors who<br />
are the leading experts in their field of expertise.<br />
