PREREQUISITES:
These vary according to the seminar to be presented. Some basic topics require only a
background in college-level algebra. For advanced topics, nominees should work in ORSA or
similar areas that require knowledge or use of quantitative methods of management in job
assignments. A working knowledge of mathematics and statistics is desired for the advanced
topics.
COURSE SCOPE:
This seminar is intended to meet the need for detailed resident and onsite education in pertinent
ORSA subjects. Training will be tailored to the specific needs of the organization and can be
targeted for either ORSA or non-ORSA audiences. Topics available include, but are not limited to,
decision analysis techniques, design and planning of experiments, math programming,
software applications, nonparametric statistics, probability and statistics, regression analysis,
simulation modeling, the spreadsheet as an analytic tool, statistical process control, survey
design and analysis, presentation techniques, Microsoft Excel as a management tool
(fundamentals and intermediate level) and Operations Research/Systems Analysis Technologies
and Applications Course (ORSA-TAC).
This course is releasable to students from all requesting foreign countries without restrictions.
