PREREQUISITES:<br />

These vary according to the seminar to be presented. Some basic topics require only a<br />

background in college-level algebra. For advanced topics, nominees should work in ORSA or<br />

similar areas that require knowledge or use of quantitative methods of management in job<br />

assignments. A working knowledge of mathematics and statistics is desired for the advanced<br />

topics.<br />

COURSE SCOPE:<br />

This seminar is intended to meet the need for detailed resident and onsite education in pertinent<br />

ORSA subjects. Training will be tailored to the specific needs of the organization and can be<br />

targeted for either ORSA or non-ORSA audiences. Topics available include, but are not limited to,<br />

decision analysis techniques, design and planning of experiments, math programming,<br />

software applications, nonparametric statistics, probability and statistics, regression analysis,<br />

simulation modeling, the spreadsheet as an analytic tool, statistical process control, survey<br />

design and analysis, presentation techniques, Microsoft Excel as a management tool<br />

(fundamentals and intermediate level) and Operations Research/Systems Analysis Technologies<br />

and Applications Course (ORSA-TAC).<br />

This course is releasable to students from all requesting foreign countries without restrictions.<br />
