PREREQUISITES:<br />

Restricted to active duty <strong>Army</strong> officers transitioning into Functional Area 51 (Acquisition); National<br />

Guard and <strong>Army</strong> Reserve officers selected for transition to FA-51 and activating for a minimum of<br />

two years; and <strong>Army</strong> civilian interns in Career Program 14 (contracting). This course provides the<br />

<strong>Army</strong> Acquisition Workforce members, military officers and NCOs in MOS 51C with Defense<br />

Acquisition <strong>University</strong> (DAU) equivalent level II contracting training in intermediate contracting<br />

(CON 202, CON 204, and CON 210). This intermediate contracting course emphasizes <strong>Army</strong><br />

doctrine and <strong>Army</strong>-unique system acquisition procedures and organizations throughout its<br />

curriculum.<br />

Equivalency/Prerequisite: Advance Noncommissioned Officer Course equivalent training for<br />

Active <strong>Army</strong> and Reserve Component Noncommissioned Officers in MOS 51C.<br />

COURSE SCOPE:<br />

This course provides the AAW with DAU equivalent training in intermediate contracting (CON<br />

214, CON 215, CON 216, CON 217, and CON 218). This intermediate contracting course<br />

emphasizes <strong>Army</strong> doctrine and <strong>Army</strong>-unique system acquisition procedures and organizations<br />

throughout its curriculum.<br />

AAICC addresses: Intermediate principles of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation and<br />

Federal Acquisition Regulation; manages, performs, and administers contracting functions for<br />

commodities, services, and construction using acquisition procedures, negotiation and other<br />

approved methods of contracting. Uses automated contracting systems to prepare, process, and<br />

analyze transactions and products; provides leadership skills as a business advisor, buyer,<br />

negotiator, administrator, and contracting officer; supports all functions of contingency contracting<br />

operations.<br />

This course can be found on ATRRS under School Code 907A. It is taught at the <strong>Army</strong><br />

Acquisition Center of Excellence (AACoE) on the campus of the <strong>University</strong> of Alabama at<br />

The course proponent is the MILDEP to the Assistant Secretary of the <strong>Army</strong> for Acquisition,<br />

<strong>Logistics</strong>, and Technology.<br />

SLC consists of the Acquisition NCO Leadership Course (ALMC-ANL), the Contracting Officer’s<br />

Representative Course (ALMC-CL) ―Train the Trainer‖, and the <strong>Army</strong> Acquisition Intermediate<br />

Contracting Course (ALMC-AIC).<br />
