Staff Regulations and Rules - International Seabed Authority

Introduction
In accordance with the Staff Regulations, which lay down the principles, the
Secretary-General of the Authority, as the chief administrative officer, provides
and enforces such staff rules consistent with these principles, as deemed necessary.
In this regard, the Secretary-General of the Authority promulgated the Staff Rules
of the Authority on 1 November 2001 4 . These were subsequently revised and
promulgated on 1 December 2006, following modifications to the Staff Rules of
the United Nations. 5 The Staff Rules of the Authority have been effective from
that date of promulgation in accordance with rule 113.6, subject to the provisions
of Staff Regulations 12.3 and 12.4. The English and French texts of the Staff Rules
of the Authority are equally authoritative.
